This week i've been reading alot because our second essay is on friday. The book has been getting really interested. While reading this book, I learned that people are a big influence in life and they influence your actions. While reading A piece of cake, I felt like I understood what she was doing in order to live and why she did all that drinking/drugs.

This week we mostly worked on our essay. On Tuesday, I stayed afterschool and got a lot of help on my essay. I got a lot of my misunderstandings cleared and that made me help my essay become better. Before I went to get to help I felt really bad about my essay because I didn't feel it was good enough but by the time I turned it in this Friday, I felt accomplished. Through out the break I mostly read and found the book really hard to let go. I enjoy the way Cupcake Brown writes it really makes you picture the book in your head.

This week we mostly had alot of work time do be able to use it on our tragedy papers. I had alot of miss understandings on the readings so it was a bit difficult for me to write the essay. What I mostly wrote about in my essay was Oedipus but after a discussion with Stephanie I realized that I believed more in the reading, The Common Man. Which reminded me alot of a bully or a person who wants change. A person who is tired of being bossed around or bullied around and wants to do something about the problem that is causing them so many problems.

This week, we learned and read about tragedies. We had to write responses, retell, and relate about the different things that we read. This week, I got my book and yet haven't started reading it. All threwout last week we read.

This week we learned about Oedipus and the last scene. We learned how he gauged his eyes out because he had found out that he married and had kids with his mother and he had killed his father. In that story I learned that you can't change your destiny when it is already set. We also started reading about our tragedy project and we chose our partners for our writings.

This week we learned about Oedepis and his life. We learned how he married and had kids with his mom and how he killed his father. In the story we had to read, we learned that oracle told/ predicted what was going to happen later on in his life. We also had to write a in class essay about the book that we had been reading for the past month. I wrote about the book I read, Memoirs of a teenage amnesiac, this was a very interesting girly book that shows us the life of a young girl who hit her head and lost her memory. The essay wasn't really hard because all you had to do was answer a question that my group had written before. 

This week we have learned and talked about Socrates. We learned about his life and the things he accomplished. We learned how he influenced the young mines of teenagers and how he made them question the world. We learned how he was killed. He had to drink some kind of poison and it didn't kill him instant, they made him suffer for a while and then he died. After his death, people realized what he was saying and how he was like a "good" person to have around since he made them question. We also had to read a bit. We read the trial of Socrates death and a Crito reading. The readings were a little difficult to understand but you could get the message.
